Basic Cooked Rice

Ingredients:
1 cup long grain rice 1 1/2 cups water
Cooking methods:
- In a medium saucepan, bring the rice and water to a boil on medium heat (about 4).
- When the water is boiling, turn the heat down to medium-low (about 3). Half-cover the pot with the lid.
- Continue cooking on medium-low until you can see holes or "craters" in the rice.
- Put the lid on tight. Turn the heat down to low and simmer for 15 more minutes.
- Fluff up the rice, and serve.

This recipe makes about 3 cups rice. Adjust as necessary depending on how much rice you need.
